Safety

You are getting into a car with a stranger. We take that seriously.

Every safety feature in BigiBigi exists because of that one sentence. Here is exactly what we check, what you can see before you book, and what happens when something goes wrong.

How members are verified

Government ID

Members upload an official identity document. Until it clears, their profile shows an unverified badge — the absence is stated, not hidden.

Face check

A guided selfie capture confirms the person holding the account is the person on the document. It runs on-device with live guidance during capture.

Phone, email and ratings

Phone numbers are confirmed by OTP and email addresses by a confirmation link. Every completed journey leaves a rating attached to the profile.

Before you get in

You are never asked to decide blind. A rider's profile shows their verification badges, rating, vehicle details and travel preferences, and in-app chat lets you agree the pickup point and anything else before the day.

While you travel

Share your live ride with someone you trust so they can follow the journey. If something goes wrong, Report Ride is one tap from the ride screen and support chat is open inside the app.

Women-only rides

Seats only women can book

Riders can mark individual seats, or an entire trip, as women-only. Those seats appear in the car layout with their own marker and cannot be booked by anyone else. It is a choice the rider makes when publishing, and a filter passengers can search by.

Frequently asked

Is BigiBigi a taxi service?

No. BigiBigi is car sharing between private individuals. Riders publish journeys they are already making and passengers contribute towards the cost of that journey. Nobody drives for profit, and commercial taxi rides are not permitted on the platform.

How is the price decided?

The rider sets a price per seat when publishing the ride, guided by a recommended range. Passengers see the full amount before booking. There is no surge pricing and no bidding. Passengers pay the rider directly; riders pay BigiBigi a platform fee for each completed ride, shown in the app.

How are members verified?

Phone number by OTP, email by confirmation link, identity by a government ID document paired with a guided selfie capture. Verification status is shown on every profile — including when a check has not been completed.

What are women-only rides?

Seats a rider has reserved for women passengers. They are marked in the seat layout before booking and cannot be taken by other members.

What if a ride is cancelled?

Both riders and passengers can cancel from the ride screen, giving a reason. Everyone affected is notified straight away. Cancelling is free. Seat payments are made directly to the rider, so BigiBigi does not handle refunds for them.

Can I bring luggage or pets?

That is up to the rider. Each rider sets travel preferences — chattiness, music, smoking and pets — and lists the amenities offered on a trip. Check them on the ride detail, and message the rider if you are unsure.

How do I become a rider?

Complete your profile, verify your identity and add your vehicle. From there you can publish a route with stopovers, seats, timings and price, and passengers can start booking.

Is my data safe?

Identity documents and selfies are used for verification only and are never shown to other members. Location is used to find and follow rides. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

How do I report a problem?

Open the ride and choose Report Ride. Pick what went wrong, add detail in your own words, and it reaches our team directly. Support chat is also available in the app at any time.
